Terms and Conditions Warba Travel Program

  1. This program applies exclusively to holders of Visa credit and prepaid cards specified in the approved table within the Warba Travel Program. Any transactions made using cards not included in this program will not be counted.
  2. Participation in the Warba Travel Program is limited to customers classified within the Bank’s approved segments, whether based on salary or total deposits. Customers who are not classified or do not meet the criteria for any segment are not eligible to participate in the program or benefit from its advantages.
  3. Program eligibility is based on the customer’s segment as of the first day of the calendar month. If a customer is newly segmented or newly onboarded after the month begins, their transactions for that month will not earn Travel Points.
  4. The Bank runs a quarterly segmentation review where customers may be (upon notification) downgraded or upgraded based on their activity during the previous consecutive months.
  5. To start earning Travel Points, the customer must spend a minimum of KD 100 per month to be eligible to earn Travel Points.
  6. For the first 5,000 Kuwaiti Dinars of eligible spending during a single calendar month, whether local or international transactions, Travel Points will be calculated according to the earning rates shown in the approved points table, based on the card type held by the customer. These rates may reach up to 10 Travel Points per 1 Kuwaiti Dinar for international transactions and 3 Travel Points for local transactions.
  7. For any total spends exceeding 5,001 Kuwaiti Dinars within the same month, 1 Travel Point will be calculated for every 1 Kuwaiti Dinar spent, whether for local or international transactions.
  8. The maximum number of Travel Points a customer can earn in a single calendar month is 100,000 points, regardless of the total value of transactions made.
  9. Travel Points calculation is based on the eligible transactions posted during the month, as transaction posting might take up to a maximum of 15 days. In case the posting date was in the consecutive month, it will be then counted as a transaction in that consecutive month.
  10. Qualified transactions are those done via the eligible cards through point-of-sale terminals both locally and internationally as well as online payment gateways, excluding cash withdrawal transactions.
  11. All Travel Points accumulated from transactions made by both the primary and supplementary card(s), will be rewarded to the digital “Pocket” of the primary account holder within 5 working days upon the end of the month.
  12. Travel Points will be credited within 5 working days upon the end of the month after transactions are approved.
  13. Cancelled and/or reversed transactions will not be considered. In case the transaction was reversed after the cashback amount was rewarded, the Bank retains the right to return such amounts or equivalent in points from the customer’s digital “Pocket” or any of the customer’s current/savings accounts, at any time deemed suitable.
  14. Upon calculating Travel Points, the total amount of canceled or reversed transactions will be deducted from the total eligible spending, including refunds and any reversals resulting from tax refunds such as VAT refunds. Eligible net spending is calculated after deducting all such transactions.
  15. Warba Bank retains the full rights to review and assess the documents/receipts presented and consider only the “personal” transactions that follow the terms and conditions of the program, and credit the customer’s “pocket” the Travel Points amount within the first week of the following month.
  16. Warba Bank has the right not to consider the Travel Points amount accumulated by a customer through non-personal usage, such as business operations, corporate expenses, or other transactions deemed inappropriate by the Bank.
  17. Transactions related to the purchase or trading of cryptocurrencies (MCC 6051), FOREX trading (MCC 6211), margin trading (MCC 6210), or any similar transactions are not considered eligible for earning Travel Points.
  18. Transactions made to charitable organizations classified under Merchant Category Code (MCC) 8398, whether personal or non-personal, are excluded from eligible transactions. This exclusion applies even if certain companies or entities are classified under this code.
  19. Transactions made at merchant categories that do not comply with Islamic Sharia principles, identified under the following MCC codes: 7996, 7801, 7800, 7995, 5813, 5921, are not considered eligible for earning points.
  20. Travel Points are calculated and credited to the customer’s “Pocket” digital wallet account available through the Bank’s mobile application. Customers can redeem these Travel Points with airlines, hotels, and travel-related partners participating in the program.
  21. All successful point transfers from the customer’s Warba Travel Program “Pocket” to participating partners are considered final and cannot be canceled or refunded under any circumstances.
  22. The time required to transfer Travel Points varies by partner; some transfers may occur instantly, while others may take several days.
  23. Customers may link their personal memberships with airlines, hotels, and travel-related partners through the Bank’s mobile application to enable point transfers.
  24. The customer bears full responsibility for entering the correct loyalty membership number for airlines, hotels, or participating partners. The Bank assumes no responsibility for verifying the accuracy, ownership, or validity of membership(s).
  25. The Bank may add new partners and will update and display their information on the Bank’s official website to ensure transparency.
  26. Each eligible customer is entitled to receive welcome points only once upon the issuance and activation of an eligible card for the first time under the program. No additional welcome points will be granted for card renewal, replacement, or issuance of another card of any category.
  27. In the event of card cancellation, the customer remains entitled to Travel Points for eligible personal transactions posted during the calendar month preceding the card cancellation date.
  28. Points earned in the Warba Travel Program “Pocket” digital wallet are valid for twelve (12) months from the date they are earned. If not used within this period, they will automatically expire and be deducted from the wallet balance. Expired points cannot be refunded or reinstated. The customer is responsible for monitoring their balance and expiration dates via the Bank’s mobile application. The Bank assumes no responsibility for any claims related to expired points.
  29. Warba Bank has the right to change the terms and conditions of this program by sending a prior notification to customers for a period of no less than one month through any official channel deemed appropriate by the Bank.
How do I start earning Warba Travel Points?

You can begin earning Travel Points once you activate your eligible Warba Visa card and complete KD 100 or more in eligible monthly spending. All qualifying transactions made on both primary and supplementary cards will contribute toward your monthly points.

How does the Warba Travel Program work?
  • The program rewards you with Travel Points for your everyday spending.
  • You earn points based on (card type and monthly spending amount).
  • Your first KD 5,000 spent each month earns Travel Points according to your card’s earning rate.
  • All spending above KD 5,001 earns 1 Travel Point per KD.
  • Points are then credited to your “Pocket” in the Warba app.
Which transactions are eligible for earning Travel Points?

Eligible transactions include personal purchases made:

  •  At local and international POS terminals
  •  Through online payment gateways

Excluded transactions include:

  •  Cash withdrawals
  •  Crypto/FOREX/margin trading
  • Charity payments (MCC 8398)
  •  Sharia‑noncompliant merchant categories
  •  Business or corporate expenses
  • See program terms and conditions to learn more
How many Travel Points will I earn per KD spent?

The number of Travel Points you earn depends on your card type and the nature of your transactions. Points are calculated as follows:

For the first KD 5,000 of your monthly transactions:

  • 10 Travel Points for every KD 1 spent on international transactions
  • 3 Travel Points for every KD 1 spent on local transactions

Once your total monthly transactions exceed KD 5,001, you will earn 1 Travel Point for every KD 1 spent on all transactions (local and international).

How do Welcome Travel Points work when I activate my card?

Eligible cardholders receive a one‑time Welcome Travel Points reward upon activating their card for the first time. This reward is granted only once per customer, regardless of card replacement, renewal, or the issuance of another eligible card in the future.

Do my Travel Points expire?

Yes. Travel Points are valid for 12 months from the date they are earned.

  • Unused points automatically expire and cannot be reinstated.
  • You can track your balance and expiry dates anytime through the Warba Bank mobile app.
When are Travel Points credited to my account?

Travel Points are deposited into your “Pocket” within 5 working days after the end of each month for all eligible transactions that were posted during that month. If a transaction is posted late, it will count toward the following month.

What happens if I cancel my card?

If you cancel your card, you will still receive Travel Points for any eligible personal transactions posted during the month prior to cancellation. After cancellation, no further points will be earned.

Do supplementary card transactions earn points?

Yes. All eligible spending on supplementary cards contributes to the total monthly points. However, all Travel Points are credited only to the primary cardholder’s “Pocket.”

Can I cancel a point transfer to an airline or hotel partner?

No. All successful point transfers from the customer’s Warba Travel Program “Pocket” to participating partners are considered final and cannot be canceled or refunded under any circumstances.
