Warba Bank announced its sponsorship of the Ministry of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy’s participation in the "Waffar" national conservation campaign. The initiative aims to raise public awareness of electricity and water consumption and promote resource efficiency, aligning with the bank’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) and sustainable development commitments.
This sponsorship builds on an ongoing partnership between the bank and the ministry to support community awareness campaigns, particularly during the peak summer months when utility demand rises significantly.
As part of this institutional commitment, Hamad Musaed Al-Sayer, Chairman of Warba Bank, led a senior delegation to meet with Minister Dr Sabeeh Al-Mukhaizeem, Minister of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy.
The meeting reviewed joint efforts to raise awareness of electricity and water efficiency. The two parties discussed expanding public-private partnerships to launch awareness initiatives that encourage individuals to adopt more efficient resource consumption habits.
Al-Sayer praised the ministry's role in executing strategic conservation programs and infrastructure projects, saying Warba Bank remains committed to supporting national sustainability goals.
Commenting on the bank’s community outreach, Al-Sayer stated: "Through our sponsorship of the ministry’s event at 360 Mall, Warba Bank aims to extend the campaign’s reach to a broader audience, providing practical daily guidance on electricity and water conservation."
"The event highlighted simple, effective measures that individuals can implement at home and work to reduce electricity consumption and optimize resource use," Al-Sayer added. "This is especially critical during the summer season, when cooling systems drive peak energy demand."
Warba Bank’s support for the "Waffar" campaign for the second consecutive year follows its previous digital awareness initiatives. The bank previously leveraged its digital and social media platforms to share educational content featuring ministry specialists who provided practical conservation guidelines for households and businesses.
The bank's long-term environmental commitment aligns with Kuwait’s broader national objectives and sustainable development goals (SDGs), while supporting resource efficiency.
Warba Bank is a leading Islamic bank in Kuwait with a strong focus on Sharia-compliant digital banking. With one of the largest shareholder bases in the country, the bank continues to deliver innovative financial products and services, reinforcing its position as a digital-focused institution.
