16 Mar 2025
Kuwait, March 2025:

As part of its commitment to supporting initiatives that promote Islamic values and bring the Holy Quran in the hearts of Muslims, Warba Bank launched the third edition of the Ramadan Competition, "Warba Quran Reading", in collaboration with the "Saaad" app, which is specialized digital platform for reciting and teaching the Holy Quran.

The initiative comes as part of Warba Bank’s ongoing efforts to promote Islamic teachings and cultivate a culture of Quranic recitation and reflection. It reaffirms the bank’s commitment to Islamic Sharia principles and its active societal role during the holy month of Ramadan. Through this competition, the bank seeks to engage participants of all age groups, enabling them to refine their Tajweed (intonation) and recitation skills using innovative digital tools that allow participation from anywhere.

Commitment to Promoting Goodwill and Islamic Values

In this context, Executive Director of the Sharia Management at Warba Bank, Abdullah Abdul Rahim Fakhro, said: "The Islamic values are at the core of our identity at Warba Bank. The Ramadan initiative is an extension of our commitment to supporting the community and spreading religious awareness. We strive to be more than just a financial institution. We aim to be a partner in building a cohesive society based on the principles of goodwill and generosity. The ‘Warba Quran Reading’ competition is not merely a contest in reciting the Quran, but an invitation for all members of society, young and old, male and female, citizens and residents, to engage with the Book of Allah in a modern and accessible way, combining digital innovation with the spirituality of Ramadan.”

Fakhro added: "Our goal is to create an opportunity for everyone to connect with the Quran and draw closer to Allah Almighty. Through the ‘Saaad’ app, we have ensured that participation is seamless, eliminating the need for physical attendance. This initiative affirms our belief in the importance of providing an inclusive environment where everyone can invest their time in Ramadan to enhance their Quranic skills and embrace the profound values of Islam."

Skilled Recitation and Valuable Prizes

The competition runs from the 9th to the 16th of Ramadan, allowing participants to recite designated verses of the Holy Quran with precision and skill, directly from their smartphones via the "Saaad" app. This digital experience aligns with Warba Bank’s vision of integrating technology with religious values, offering innovative solutions tailored to the spirit of Ramadan.

The recitation will be evaluated and corrected by specialists in teaching the Holy Quran based on precise standards, including the rules of Tajweed and linguistic accuracy. This provides participants with a valuable educational opportunity to enhance their Quranic recitation. Upon completing the recitation, all participants will be entered into a raffle for valuable prizes, whether they are proficient reciters or beginners learning under expert guidance. Both have an equal chance of winning the competition.

Males and female participants are categorized based on age groups, with each group assigned a specific Surah (chapter) for recitation, starting with adults (15 years and above) reciting Surah An-Nur, then the group aged 11 to 14 reciting Surah Al-Haqqah & Al-Ma’arij, the group aged 8 to 10 reciting Surah Al-Qalam, and the final group aged 4 to 7 reciting Hizb 60.

Participants can register directly on the link available on the Warba Bank Instagram page or directly through the "Saaad" app.

This initiative is part of Warba Bank’s broader social responsibility strategy aimed at fostering Islamic values and strengthening the community’s cultural and religious awareness.
