The Deputy Chief Executive Officer Support Services and Treasury at Warba Bank, Anwar Bader Al-Ghaith, noted that the Bank is keen to support university students and to involve them in specialized programs and workshops with the aim of acquiring diverse experiences and skills, as they are the most important pillars of development, and the most prominent element in sustainability that comes among the priorities of Warba Bank, pointing out Warba Bank is achieving positive results and growth at various levels, according to plans and strategies that focus on investing in human capital.
During the meeting with representatives of universities that was held by the Bank on the occasion of launching the “Rowad” (pioneers of innovation) program of adopting the innovations of university students in its fourth edition, which is the first of its kind in Kuwait, and which was launched on October 23 and will continue until December 15, Al-Ghaith added in his speech that the program since its inception, has proven its ability to stimulate the energies of participating students in addition to the employees of Warba Bank with the aim of providing more advanced banking services and products that respond to the needs of clients.
He stated that Warba Bank conceived the idea of “Rowad” program in the context of social responsibility and helping to unlock the latent potentials of students, as well as supporting Warba Bank employees and providing them the opportunity to play a key role in enhancing the Bank’s position and improving their career, especially since the creative ideas are then refined and produced in a manner that conforms to market requirements and the aspirations of clients and is consistent with the bank's strategy. After which they will be adopted and implemented by the Bank.
Al-Ghaith explained that the Bank considered the importance of expanding the scope of participation in this program, after it achieved great success, to include under its umbrella university students interested in working in this sector, so that they would have a real opportunity to learn at the hands of experts in the banking field and simulate the challenges and variables that could be faced, and how to build a deep understanding of clients’ needs and try to respond to them by introducing more innovations that contribute to making the banking experience for each client an enjoyable and smooth experience.
The Bank's interest to expand the scope of the program also comes in order to provide the opportunity for university students to participate in this program and get acquainted closely with the basics of strategic thinking, methods of analysis, collecting information, building digital products, as well as implementing quality services and product programs through the supervision of experts in the financial and banking sector, as well as working to encourage the spirit of innovation and competition among students, the adoption of the banking product and its transformation into reality, in addition to the opportunity to receive valuable cash prizes at the end of the program.
Regarding the program and its participants, Al-Ghaith indicated that Warba Bank will open the way for students of the third and fourth academic year of: Kuwait University, Gulf University for Sciences and Technology, American University of Kuwait and Australian University to participate in the Rowad Program in its fourth edition. Specialized committee will select the suitable candidates from each university, to form a team representing the university, consisting of 5 students in any discipline, to compete with the teams of universities participating in the program.
It’s held for a period of 7 weeks, and it includes several workshops to enrich the students’ information in this field and provide them with all the necessary knowledge in banking field so as to facilitate them to develop innovative services and products that enrich the banking sector through their partnership in designing these banking products and services.
Al-Ghaith continued, "The winning team will be selected among the participating teams based on several criteria, including innovation, creativity and effectiveness.
In conclusion, Al-Ghaith hoped that the participating students will benefit from t this program to improve their abilities and perceptions, saying: “We hope that through this program we have provided the appropriate environment for students to learn and acquire different skills. Participation in this program will give them the opportunity to join the Warba Bank team and achieve further professional progress.
