KUWAIT, December 2022

Warba Bank continues its support and active contributions to the "Let's Be Aware" campaign, in cooperation with the Cybercrime Department of the Ministry of Interior. It is an awareness campaign initiated by the Central Bank of Kuwait and the Kuwait Banking Association, to highlight the rights of clients and educate them on dealing with banks, as part of its commitment to aware clients about their rights, and how to preserve their accounts and savings.

In this regard, Ayman Salem Al-Mutairi, Director of Marketing and Corporate Communications at Warba Bank, stated: “As part of Warba Bank’s social responsibility and in support of the ‘Let’s Be Aware’ campaign, we were pleased to cooperate with the Cybercrime Department in raising banking financial awareness through social media channels and reducing fraud risks, which recently increased, and this is only possible in cooperation with the relevant government agencies.

Al-Mutairi continued, saying: “Warba Bank is keen to hold such campaigns and banking awareness programs, as it presents these initiatives regularly on social media, in addition to sending messages through the Warba Online application, stressing Warba Bank’s commitment to supporting sustainability at the social and economic levels, in initiatives that are strategically selected and defined for the benefit of the Bank in particular, and the country in general.

A representative of the Ministry of Interior in the Cybercrime Department, Lieutenant Colonel Ammar Al-Sarraf, stated: “We always support campaigns through which we can reach the largest segment of clients in Kuwait to educate them on their rights. The objectives of this cooperation are to educate all clients by shooting video clips that will be posted on social media channels, and among the most prominent messages that included this cooperation are fraudulent bank messages, dealing with unlicensed financial institutions, hacking the banking application, suspicious transactions and the speed of reporting them, electronic withdrawals, changing the password of bank cards, keeping banking information in safe places, not the caller and scam investments in stocks.

The campaign is not limited to electronic fraud, but also sheds light on the rights of bank clients in the areas of personal finance, whether client or housing finance, the procedure of submitting complaints about banking services, various bank cards, ways to avoid exposure to fraud, awareness of the risks that clients may be exposed to, high-risk investments and awareness of the rights of disabled clients. It also deals with tips related to cybersecurity and protecting bank accounts, as well as explaining the procedure of filing complaints, while defining the duties of the banking sector and its role in stimulating and developing the economy.

Warba Bank succeeded, after a short period of its founding, in establishing its position in the banking sector, and occupied a leading position in the field of Islamic digital banking services for individuals, as it is considered the most local bank with the number of shareholders base from members of society, which makes it the closest bank to them by providing the best banking services. It became up to the aspirations of the Kuwaiti society and deservedly earned their trust in a short period.
